Nadia Dardano

Nadia Dardano is a Canadian choreographer, dancer, and artistic producer whose work explores the relationship between rhythm, energy, and human vulnerability. Originally from a small town in Ontario, Canada, Nadia began her career as a young dancer before pursuing formal training at Toronto Metropolitan University, where she graduated with Honors.
As a performer, Nadia has worked with a wide range of established choreographers, including Dance Novella, Adam Barruch, Majella Bess, Alysa Pires, Alyssa Martin, Vicki St-Denys, Susee Burpee, Esie Mensah, and Raoul Piley. Her practice has been further shaped through international training and research, including Springboard Danse in Pittsburgh, B12 Research or Die in Berlin, and the Henny Jurriëns Summer Intensive in Amsterdam, experiences that continue to inform her global and multidisciplinary perspective.
Nadia’s choreographic work has received notable recognition. Upon graduation, she was awarded the Lipson Family Endowment, presented annually to one Toronto Metropolitan University graduate in recognition of outstanding choreography. Her works have been presented on local stages such as DACO 2026, The Fifth Summer intensive Guest artist, and Fever After Dark. She has served as Artistic Producer of Chapters, where she curated a cohesive mixed-bill performance featuring 16 choreographers.
Her creative practice centers on dance as a conversation between body, rhythm, and expression. Nadia is drawn to the recycling of energy and exhaustion through the body, investigating how authentic rhythm creates continuity, transformation, and release. Moments of fatigue and vulnerability are central to her work, serving as entry points for genuine expression. Through this lens, she strives to create performances that feel both intentional and deeply human, merging form and feeling into a unified dramatic language.
Collaboration is at the core of Nadia’s practice. She approaches choreography as a shared investigation, where dancers, sound, and space contribute equally to the work. Her leadership as a creator is rooted in openness and curiosity, cultivating environments that encourage trust and authenticity. Beyond dance, Nadia incorporates writing, painting, drawing, and photography into her process, using interdisciplinary exploration to expand movement vocabulary and challenge how dance can be experienced.
Nadia’s performance credits extend to Cirque Du Soleil, Fall for Dance North’s Night Shift Program, Festival des Arts de Saint-Sauveur, Arts Orillia Jazz Festival, Guelph Dance Festival, and Dance Ontario Festival.
